What are the icons? Symbolic images; should look better than photorealistic; Icons should be scalable, transparent, live.

Quality: The Quality of icons influences of usability. Poorly designed icons can lead to confusion as the user tries to guess what an icon means.
Scalable: User will be slower with a lot of small icons than with a few large icons.
